The National Eisteddfod of Wales is one of the great festivals of the world, attracting over 160,000 visitors every year. An eclectic mixture of culture, music, visual arts and all kinds of activities for people of all ages, there’s something for everyone on the Maes during the first week of August every year.

The Celtic Manor Resort golf course, host of the 2010 Ryder Cup, is a 10 minute drive from Caerleon. There are many outdoor activity centres which offer pony trekking, rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling.
You'll find many ancient monuments to visit including Roman remains, Norman castles, Saint Fagans National History Museum and our more recent industrial heritage such as Big Pit National Coal Museum.
The beautiful Usk Valley, Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons and the South Wales coast line, canals and waterways are waiting to be explored.
Then there are the many concert venues including the Millennium Stadium, CIA (Cardiff International Arena), Saint David’s Hall, The Point, Newport Centre, TJs and the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre.
